There are many definitions of data management (DM). In the most general terms, DM involves the collection and processing of data for eventual retrieval and analysis. DM is the work that is done -- often behind the scenes -- that turns data into information.
This area of the site is dedicated to practical issues that arise in data management. Click on the links to the right to get started. Note that while the items here represent real issues that I have come across, the data in all examples are fictional.
